Mornington Island is in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland. Aboriginals have inhabited the island for 200,000 years. Mornington Island has a population of around 4,000. The women on the Island make necklaces, grass skirts and dancing hats for the men to wear. Sandra Came to Darwin in 1987 and lived in Katherine for several years prior to that.
